my life

I realize every day how fortunate I am. That even though the road I go down to some, makes twists and turns, compared to some people's lives, mine is great! what to do next!

I do, you don't

Since the day we first started dating,
We were at different stages Even though we were on the same date,
My heart fell the moment I saw you,
And your heart said:"Take it easy...wait".

I knew what I wanted and the feelings got stronger,
You just enjoyed time day to day,
This frusterated me hugely,
As of this type of thinking was getting in my way.

Dating, activities, and trips went by,
I felt like I was part of your life,
The only thing that was missing,
was the fact that I wasn't your wife!

I was ready to say I do,
Your thoughts were still saying I don't,
This is broke my heart in two,
Wondering why you won't.

I bit my tongue and figured I'd hold on, Heaven knew no one else would do,
So I may as well stick this one out,
And to my own heart be true.

I figured eventually you'd come around,
And if I'd stay put I'd win,
It Might take for ever to happen,
But when I did at least I'd have a grin!

You always said you were stubborn,
But honey you've met your match in me,
When I want something I go for it, and get it,
This time I'm winning No matter the time frame You'll see.

So if that sounds pushy or cocky I'm sorry,
I call it self assured,
Someday we'll both agree on I do's,
Because of how much your adored!

So knowing that I'll sit back and be happy,
For your the man of my dreams that is true,
And right now not much else can happen,
so I'll date and make you happy and do what I need to do!

You may not of said I do,
But you've committed in every other way,
So I'll go on with my goal and love you,
And be thankful for you day to day.

Through the eyes of a child

Stores filled with presents and ornaments aglow,
People walking to and fro,
Cars driving fast to pick up there trees,
And carolers going to houses singing with glee.

Toys of all sorts, and windows all aglitter,
Family laughing as they buy their Christmas together,
Jumping on trolleys and jumping over stones,
No one noticing a child alone.

A Child that's lonely and only wants love,
And would give anything for family instead of toys like above,
A child whose eyes are swimming with tears,
And arms aching to be held to calm all his fears
,
A child who's Christmas isn't toys, trees and laughter,
But loneliness, tears, And things that don't matter,
A child who is protected by God and by angels above,
And who knows no other type of love.
